Lhas-A-Poos has been a very popular puppy at our store since we opened in 1999.  Lhas-A-Poos have a very cute face and a non-shedding coat that comes in a wide variety of colors. The popularity of this Designer Dog is very good and Lhas-A-Poos are the Number Six selling Designer Dog at Utica Pet Supply LLC www.uticapet.com.

As you would guess the Lhas-A-Poos are the Designer Dog bred from a Pure Breed Lhasa Apso and a Pure Breed Toy Poodle.  Some breeders today will use a variety of sizes with regards to the Poodle.

Lhas-A-Poos are a good family pet and offer a lot of qualities that buyers are looking for.  Lhas-A-Poos are a popular Designer Dog for their non-shedding coat and wide variety of available colors.

As with most Designer Dogs that originate from Poodle cross breeding most people consider Lhas-A-Poos to be a hypoallergenic dog.

When considering the parents size of Lhas-A-Poos the Lhasa Apso will normally be less than 15 pounds, 13-15 pounds is the norm, and the Toy Poodle will normally be less than 8 pounds, 4-8 pounds is the norm.  The resulting size for Lhas-A-Poos will normally be less than 12 pounds, so Lhas-A-Poos are a Toy Designer Dog with an adult weight range of 8-12 pounds.

Playing with Lhas-A-Poos when you visit us at the store is a lot of fun, you’ll find that this is an energetic puppy that likes to play and is very affectionate.  So, Roxanne and I like Lhas-A-Poos for families with children.

As far as training goes, the Toy Poodle is one of the smartest Toy Breed Dogs there is and breeding it to the Lhasa Apso to produce Lhas-A-Poos makes Lhas-A-Poos a very smart Designer Dog that is very easy to train.

Another benefit you enjoy with the majority of Designer Dogs is great genetic health.  So on average you should experience very good longevity and fewer vet bills.

Both the Lhasa Apso and the Toy Poodle have a life span of 12-14 years, so on average you should expect similar with Lhas-A-Poos.

While a lot of family’s visit our store looking to purchase a Toy Pure Breed Puppy often we suggest Lhas-A-Poos because it is a better fit for families with children.  The size and temperament of Lhas-A-Poos is more embracing of the activity levels that kids offer.  Lhas-A-Poos have an expected adult weight of up to 12 pounds makes this Designer Dog a great family pet when there are two or more children.

Overall, Roxanne and I give big thumbs up in suggesting to you Lhas-A-Poos!

At the store we feed the puppies a dry kibble made by Diamond Pet Food, Inc.  This premium dry kibble is called Professional Puppy Chicken & Barley Formula.  This food has the benefits of Professional’s Complete Health Care System.

Fun Fact: Purina Puppy Chow and Purina Dog Chow are two of the most popular and recognized brand names of pet foods today.

Fun Fact: In addition to being the smallest dog ranging from 1-6 pounds, the Chihuahua is one of the shortest ranging from 6-9”.
