Among the Toy Group of Designer Dogs available today, Yorki-Poos are one of the most popular.  The name of this popular Designer Dog tells us what the parents are, a Yorkie bred to a Toy Poodle.

Since Roxanne and I opened the store in 1999, Yorki-Poos have grown in popularity more and more over time.

As with most Designer Dogs that originate from Poodle cross breeding most people consider Yorki-Poos a hypoallergenic dog.

While Yorkshire Terriers have their own uniqueness breeding them to the Toy Poodle truly gives us a lot of positive traits in the offspring, the Yorkie Poo.

The Yorkie weighs 7 pounds or less, and the Toy Poodle weighs 4-8 pounds, so Yorki-Poos will be a small Toy Designer Dog.  You should expect true Yorki-Poos to weigh 5.5-7.5 pounds with a height of 8-10”.

We like to offer Yorki-Poos to families with children because they are very energetic, they are very playful, and affectionate.  Yorki-Poos in general are friendly toward other pets and strangers.  They have a low requirement for exercise so a play session daily will be adequate.

As with many Designer Dogs Yorki-Poos will inherently have good genetic health due to cross breeding and you can expect a life span of 12-16 years.
